Casual Chic OOTD

Hey Everyone!

     I wanted to do a quick update post on my outfit today because I can finally start posting on transitional pieces! This is a really casual outfit of the day, but I am absolutely in love with the purse, so I decided to post on it. This can easily be dressed up with a few glitzy bracelets, but I decided to keep it simple.

My top is a basic black half sleeved tee. This is so soft, and it makes your core look really toned. I do not like to wear anything too loose for shirts, and this is form fitting without being skin tight. Basically, it is really cute and you can still breath while wearing it, which is a total win-win situation!

I wore this with my navy jeans and Tommy Hilfiger flip flops. The jeans have more of a jeggings type fabric to them, but they are still more roomy then a typical pair of jeggings. I love wearing these because you won't overheat in them, which makes them one of my top transitional pieces. The TH flip flops have such a cute print on the straps, plus they bring out the green in my purse. The weather is impossible, it is so warm out one minute and I am freezing the next. I love this outfit because I can roll up the sleeves on my tee and make it work!

My favorite part of this outfit is my green purse. This adds a pop of color without being too bold, and it really pops against the black shirt. This purse is so light, I can haul around everything around really easily. It looks really bright in the studio lighting, but you can pair it with a lot of outfits.







I wore my pearl ring and a long silver necklace to tie in the silver on the purse. I don't like to match everything up, but because these are both interesting pieces on their own, it works. I have worn the silver ring a lot, I think it is so unique but simple. Long necklaces are always fun, I looped this around twice so it wouldn't hang down too far.

You could also pair this with a silky scarf, but I decided to go for the necklace to dress it up a little more.

These are my favorite Tommy Hilfiger flip flops. I have worn these so much throughout the summer, they are really comfy to walk around in.

I wore this with my Awakened Eyes makeup tutorial, and straightened my hair with my Hair Rage flat iron.

My Travel Hair, Makeup, And Outfit!

Hey everyone!

     Good news, I found wifi! It is on and off though, so I will try to keep posting. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to show you what my go to traveling outfit, hair, and makeup is. I love traveling, but finding the perfect outfit is close to impossible. I never know what the plan is, so I have to be prepared for anything, which kills the whole juicy couture sweat suit idea. Even though these are really comfy to travel in, I prefer something a little more dressy. If you know me, you know I am not the biggest fan of anything casual. Sorry, but tee shirts are just not my thing! Anyways, this is my favorite way to look put together while on the go.

First, I like to have a top that you can dress up easily, so I chose something that was interesting on its own. I just got in this Forever 21 trapeze cut floral top, and I love it! This top is the epitome of casual chic, it is so comfy to wear.

If I want to dress it up a little, I put my cropped black sweater over it. The black makes the bright floral print in the top pop out even more, and you can still pair it all with a necklace. I have worn this sweater so much, it is one of my basics.

I just paired this with jean shorts to complete the look. These are really comfy to travel in, so I took two pairs of these in dark and light washes. I wear these all the time because they are actually at a decent length, and they are so hard to find!

I usually live in flats because they can easily be dressed up and they are comfy. My theory is that you should always be prepared to run into someone you know when you go out, because that happens to me 99.9% of the time! Flats make me feel a little more put together then flip flops, so if I happen to see someone, I never have to worry about having on too casual of an outfit! Oh, the joys of being a beauty philosopher.

My go to hairstyle for these days is usually a French braid. They are easy, quick, and elegant, plus they stay in place! I added a head wrap with this to keep everything in place because I have a ton of layers. They look great when my hair is curled, and they look much better when they are pulled back if my hair is up.

  Next is what I wear for my travel makeup. I absolutely dread the morning when I have to leave, they are so rushed and I do not have the essential time to complete my beauty routine! I decided to find some quick fixes that take you from dull to glam in seconds, these will stay on all day without feeling thick or drying.

My first favorite is my Mac lipstick in Hot Tahiti. This is a deep red, but it has more of a sheer, shiny finish. I apply this with a 316 lip brush to get the most precise application, but it would work just as well if you applied it out of the tube. I usually stay far away from applying just a lipstick without a gloss or anything, but this has such a beautiful finish I feel like I don't need anything else. Whenever you apply a red, even if it is not very opaque, it adds a pop of color and makes you look red carpet ready in seconds. I prefer to wear it as more of a stain, but I would highly encourage you to try more of a glossy red for a youthful pop of color.

I like to keep the eyes pretty simple, so I am sticking with soft browns. My two favorites are a really warm toned brown, Modelette, and a cooler toned one, Patina. These are both from Mac, and Patina is pictured to the left. I just apply a light layer of this with a 213 brush and build up the deepness of the color as I go toward the crease.

I just top the eye look off with a thin line of liquid eyeliner and my Makeup Forever Smokey Lash. This defines my eyes without competing with the softer red lip. When you keep the eyes simple, you can have fun with brighter lip colors and beautiful blushes.

Union Jack

                                                                  Hello Readers!
Sorry I haven't posted in a week, I went on vacation and sadley, the place had no wifi. But now I promise I will try to post everyday! So while I was on vacation I noticed alot of people wearing the Union Jack. I also noticed that lots of clothing stores are coming out with shirts and other items with the Union Jack on them! So if this is the new fad, here are some items that you can get to stay in style.

This shirt is from Forever 21. Forever 21 is definetly aware of this new fad because they have 15 shirts with the Union Jack on them! I love this shirt because it looks like it was painted on, and I know it's not the most fitted shirt, but Forever 21 tends to make more flowy shirts, and I love that this one is more fitted. It would be super cute paired with a pair of dark wash short jeans and some gladiator sandals!

Delias is also in on this fad. They have recently come out with seven shirts with the Union Jack on them. This shirt is probably my favorite one that they've made because its a cute short tank, that can be paired with a cute colored cami under it, but it also is not the real colors of the Union Jack, which really stands out. I would pair this with a contrasting color cami.  

But not only clothing companies are putting the Union Jack on their items, some big time designers are doing it also. Chanel, for instance, came out with a Union Jack Bag. But of course they put there signature cc sign right in the middle of it. It is a cute bag, I could see someone walking around town and going into a shop with this bag. But this bag is sort of small so it's not the most practical.

And last but not least is this Alexander McQueen clutch. This is an absolutely adorable clutch, but it would put a giant hole in my wallet because it costs $2,295, so it's not exactly cheap. This is also a very unique clutch because at the top of it is a skull.

Cute Workout Outfits

Hey Everyone!

     I feel like it has been ages since I posted, so much has been going on! I have been doing some major online shopping, the semi annual sales always get me. Anyways, I have been playing tennis almost every day, and I really need to work out more. I have done crushes and that stuff to keep in shape, but I am going to try and become that girl that gets up at 6 a.m. to get her workout in! Okay, maybe not that dedicated, but still! So I was looking for something that would make this a little more fun, and that is a cute outfit. Here are my favorites!

First, you need something to tote around all of your stuff. I need a simple gym bag, mine are always too small or too deep. This looks    perfect! This is the VSX Gym Bag from Victoria's Secret. I think I am going to pick up the white one, I need to put in a quick order before their semi annual sale ends!

These are the Nike Capri Pants, these just look like they would make everything easier. They cling to every muscle, so maybe these are instant toning capris?

I love these! They are so comfy to wear, and you don't have to worry about it sliding around. I wear these for tennis all the time, my only excuse to get more is... maybe it makes my serve better?

The VSX strappy tank looks really nice as well. I typically wear sleeveless stuff in the summer, so this would be perfect. This comes in pink, purple, mint green, and black.

And you will need the perfect headband to go along with it! These are from the VSX line, and I love the lime green! These really do stay in place, I hate it when I have to keep re-adjusting something! It has some sweat resistant technology in it, which is another plus.

I love these too! The cross front tanks have the V-neck front with the racerback design, which looks amazing on everyone. Not only does this have a four way stretch to it, but these shirts also have the sweat resistant technology as well.

Mod Cloth

Hey everyone!

I have been loving the look of vintage clothes, and I know one of our readers loves it as well! She recommended the website Mod Cloth to me, and I have been on it every day since! It seems like they add new things every day, and I have spent more time shopping on there then working on this post. Oops. Anyways, other then the fact that their site is extremely addictive, they have some really unique pieces.

This is the Richly Royal dress. I love this because the basic silhouette gives the perfect opportunity to accessorize! Mod Cloth lists what they would pair with the piece, and for this they said to go gold. I could not agree more! The warm undertones in gold would work really well to bring out this rich shade of purple.

This is the Palette of Petals Dress. I think I read that it was inspired by paints on a palette, and I can see why! The bright cherry red flowers pop against the cerulean blue. This dress has a tie closure in the back and banded waist.

The Plum One Plum All dress is so perfect! This was exactly what I was looking for, and it might have something to do with the belt. A while ago, I did a post on thick belts. I love the look of them, and when they come with a dress like this, how can you pass it up? The thing I love about Mod Cloth is their stunning vintage selection full of bright colors!

A Single Sprig dress would be the perfect Dress for more of a casual beachy look. I know the Forever Fuchsia team has been obsessing over this look, especially the hair. For the perfect style to go with this look, check out Glitter Girl's perfect waves post! Anyways, I would love to see this with some golden gladiator sandals and perfectly sea salt sprayed hair to go along with this!

The Violet It Be dress is unique because of its open back. I love this because it is not too dressy but it can easily be dressed up! Everyone needs some versatile pieces in their wardrobe, and this could easily be one of them. I love the color palette of this one, expect a deep violet smokey eye coming up soon!

Horse Chic?

Hey everyone!

     Okay, I have been obsessed with horseback riding clothing lately. Obviously you won't see me with the full helmet and jods, but some of the stuff is really cute! Back in the dinosaur age of this blog, I did a post on how I loved to knot the ends of a shirt with a cami under it to make it look more casual. Well, I have gone to the extremes, making my new favorite look a horseback riding shirt with the ends knotted!

Oh, and not to mention, you have an excuse to run with the polo look! Hello, Ralph Lauren.

I try and run with the casual look as much as I can, hair and all. Seriously, my hair can look like it just got electrocuted and I will say it is the Safari look. Okay, slight over-exaggeration. With this shirt, you may actually be able to pull it off! This is the perfect mix between fun and casual, but it is still classy.




This is so preppy! This is why I love horseback riding stuff, the polo's make it so easy to put a look together in minutes.

Maxi Dresses

Hey everyone!

    Today I am posting on a trend that has been around for a while, and it is maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are the really long dresses that have escalated into a huge trend over the last couple of years. I was still on my search for a casual dress that was above the knee, so I must say I was not too find of these when they first came out. Then, I found myself in Macy's staring at the display of bright, colorful dresses and I just couldn't help myself.

    Long story short, I got an olive green one that was great when I wanted brighter accessories, and then one in turquoise. And that is where my story began.... I literally lived in those all summer. This was back in the day when I actually had a tan, and even though it came from ST. Tropez tanning lotion, it was still a tan! They were just so comfy and were so easy just to throw on in the morning with some strappy sandals, and I was good to go!

I had something like this, I couldn't find my old one. This one is from Forever 21, and I thought it was a great example to show how easy it is to look amazing in two minutes! The stacked bangles and wedges go perfectly with the obviously sea salt sprayed hair!

Amazing Outfit from Aeropostale

Hello Readers!
I was at Aeropostale this after noon and I found an outfit that I loved so I thought I would show it to you

This is a beautiful floral ruffled henley. The fabric is very light and thin, but is it also very see through. To fix this issue, I would layer it over this plain white tank.




Then for shorts, I would try these dark jean shorts.


But in my experience from aeropostal, I usually need a belt with their bottoms, so I would try this leather belt.


Finally, every outfit needs a pair of shoes, so I would use these chain T-strap sandals.

Cutout Necklines!

Hello Readers!
I need a dress for spring, so I was looking at Forever 21, and I noticed a styles that I like. It's where they cut out shapes in the fabric in the neckline.

Here is a picture of another one. Both of these dresses are from Forever 21. These dresses are great in spring, because the fabric is lighweight, and they are both casual, or can be dressy.

What to do With A Cami?

Hey Everyone!

     I am thinking about the different ways that I like to wear a cami. The one problem is the thin straps. They are impossible to try and make them work with the outfit, so unless I have a shirt to go over them, you will not see me sporting the look. I have not worn one by itself for quite a few years, but when I found this bright yellow one in my closet, I knew I just had to make it work.

This bright colored piece caught my eye, and even though I had no idea what to do with it, I bought it. Great logic there, right? Anyways, I knew I did not want to hide the straps, but I wanted to have something going over this. What is the one trend that is popping up all over the runways for spring? Lace! I went straight to my go-to website for any piece that I need to fill in my wardrobe, forever 21.




 And here is what I found! This sheer lace top would give the perfect amount of, um, fabric, while still letting the bright yellow cami pop through! What is not to love! I hope you all enjoyed and tell me how you like to wear this look! Be sure to comment and follow! we <3 you!

Vintage Shorts

I found the cutest shorts at target on my last trip. I know It is not the fanciest store, but come on, everyone loves target. The vintage floral prints are coming back, and I cannot wait to share it with you! In this look, I have a basic white tee, vintage shorts, and some brown ballet flats.

Here are the shoes! These are from Born, and they are a basic leather ballet flat. The small flowers on the toe give it the extra edge that works perfectly with the shorts without being too preppy. I wear these with just about anything!

This is the actual outfit. The navy shorts have these adorable burgundy and light pink flowers on it that give it a very vintage look. It came with this tan leather belt that has small circles with gold dots in the middle. I decided to add gold and burgundy jewelry. I really like the simplicity of the white shirt with this, the small pocket off to the side is the perfect touch.

 Here is a close up of the belt and shorts. I thought these were so cute they deserved their own close up!

I chose two burgundy and gold bangles and one gold bangle for the bracelets in this look. I also added the long drop earrings that were from my forever 21 haul!

This is the makeup look I would wear with this. I made this picture bigger so you all could see everything! I have two nail polishes that could go with this, a teal and the olive gold. I have mac well dressed blush and gold deposit mineralized skin finish to go over that for a light shimmer. Then I have amber lights and juxt eyeshadows by mac for the eye look, mac fascinating eyeliner (the white to line the waterline, making the eyes look bigger.) and urban decay stash. For the lips I used creamcup lipstick and enchantee lip glaze from mac as well.

Light Wash Denim + Floral Lace!

       I have been playing around with the new goodies I got from Forever 21 and put together an outfit for you! I have two different shoe inspirations, jewelry, and the outfit itself! I hope you enjoy and let's get started!

Here are the shoes!
I have two shoe choices for you to choose from. I have the edgy black heels  by Vince Camuto which are great to dress up the outfit a little more and add some spunk! Plus I have the tan gladiators by Steve Madden that throw a fun jolt of spring!

Here is my main outfit. I paired the floral lace shirt with a mint green thick strap cami underneath. I also put this with light wash jeans. I think that more people should try and rock the light wash look for jeans, when paired with a darker top, it can really have an interesting effect.

You can faintly see the bracelet off to the side, I will show a close up of the jewelry next!

I picked dangly silver earrings to go with this and a stone bracelet to finish off the look. I love the contrast between the top and the earrings, it really gives it the extra statement needed to get a nice balance.

I would keep and makeup a softer look, maybe light pinks! I would love to see this paired with a shimmery neutral look with a small amount of a bright pink blush applied with a very light hand. This outfit can be adjusted in many ways, I think these are great basics to head into the spring season with!
