Simple Smokey Eyes With Urban Decay Naked Basics

As promised, I am finally posting the exclusive tutorial using the UD naked basics palette. I love this palette; it saves me so much time in the morning. I can create beautiful neutral looks or a base for my look with it. Keep reading to see how I accomplished this look!

Begin by priming the eyes with a yellow base. This will complement any eye color.

Cut the crease for a distinct line. Make sure to use a smaller brush for added precision.

Line the upper lash line and waterline with a matte black. I decided to use a powder instead of a pencil or liquid eyeliner for a softer, smoked out look.

The last step is the lashes. I used my triple mascara technique so I wouldn't have to use false lashes. Start by applying a clear mascara. After it has dried, apply a mascara with more of a liquid base to it. Finish it off with a thicker mascara to make the lashes extremely bold!

From these photos, you can see where I placed the shades. The middle two were used as blending colors.

That's it! See how simple it is to get bold, dramatic eyes? Tell me in the comments if you have the Naked Basics palette. If so, what is your favorite look? Thanks for reading!

Bright Eyes For Spring + Marilyn Monroe Trick

Happy Spring!

Spring is the perfect time to start bringing out the brighter colors. I wore this look on a shopping trip with some friends and received a ton of good feedback on it! I feel like if I put more time into eyeshadow with colors, people tend to recognize it more than time spent on neutrals. Seriously, the professional at Sephora was going nuts over this.. Keep reading to see how I achieved it!

Is it just me, or is this a pop of color? I feel like it is the perfect way to branch out into brights.

Yes, I went back into the Marilyn Monroe makeup basics. Her classical look an be adapted into just about anything!

We know what she is thinking there.. Might as well add a speech bubble. I went a little bit overboard on the graphics here; I was having too much fun!

Tell me in the comments how you wear bright colors. Also make sure to let me know how you like the latest picture format! Thank you for reading!

Haul & New Picture Background

Is it just me, or is the thrill of shopping the best feeling in the world?

I am back again with yet another haul. This one is different than most because there is something new about the pictures. I attempt to deliver the best quality of pictures I can, but it usually involves a white background. These are slightly tweaked compared to my old ones! Enjoy the view! :)

The first product I purchased was MAC's Antiqued Diamond Paint Pot.

I have had my eye on this for a while but never got the chance to buy it. Expect some tutorials coming soon!

I was looking through my collection as I reorganized it and realized that I was missing a key staple. Yes, I did not have Satin Taupe in my collection (Cue the shocked gasps). Can we just take a minute to admire the top shot of this product? I was freaking out that Satin Taupe was going to tip over the side of the railing! It was the only way to show the shimmer in the product without using flash. No worries, it is still happily in one piece.

You can see how I had a little too much fun in some of these pictures... I know the extra shadows and all may not have been necessary, but it was so amusing just to try out a few different angles.

The last product from MAC is Beautiful Iris.

This is another classic that I was surprised I didn't have. It reminds me a bit of Vellum but with a much stronger purple base.

Moving on to Lush! This is the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner. It is like a moisturizer that you rinse off instead of leave on.

The beloved Dream Cream was a must have. This stuff is a miracle worker, seriously.

My favorite product at Lush would have to be the Honey I Washed The Kids soap. Some say it smells like honey, I say it smells like heaven.

The last product from lush is a bar of Fun. Literally, it is called fun. This is a soap/bath bomb/shampoo/play dough kind of product. Did I mention it is multi-purpose?

H&M was one of my favorite places. These floral shoes are not only perfect for spring, but also super comfy.

I have been purchasing patterned shorts left and right. I play it safe too often when it comes to printed bottoms, so I decided to go with more of a subtle top for spring. These plain tee shirts will be perfect when I want to pull of patterns and prints.

Last but not least, I present to you an impulse buy. I know, you may be wondering where I plan on wearing pink hair. Like all of my other insane outfit ideas, I'm going to just make it work. I will just play around with these for now, but who knows, I might be seen with flowing pink hair someday.

Tell me in the comments what you have purchased lately! Also, tell me what you think about the background. Do you like something a bit more interesting? I love it; I think the scenery adds so much to the photos.

OOTD's are coming soon! Thanks for reading!

Spring Cleaning

Happy Spring!

I was going through my collection yesterday and noticed that there were quite a few products that I haven't used in a while. I typically reorganize my collection every few weeks; it is one of the few things that I can successfully keep in order! I rearrange the products, but I have never taken out everything all at once.

And that doesn't include my MAC individual eyeshadows. I thought that it would be easy... I was wrong. It may have been simpler if I didn't create one of my "oh so ambitious" plans. Like I said before, there are a lot of products that I don't use because I forget about them.

I knew that there had to be another way to keep track of the products, so I decided to just go for the most helpful yet time consuming option yet. I am going to catalogue every single product.

At first, I started taking pictures with my iPad camera for the thumbnails, but the quality was not up to my standards. I have decided to take "blog quality" pictures of every product to list it. Even though this may take a while, I will have a lovely database for new blog posts! I will not have to worry about taking new pictures of the products for tutorials and I can dedicate the time to taking better quality pictures of the look itself.

What am I going to use to catalogue my products? I have been contemplating the best way to do this on my iPad and am currently testing out a few apps. I will update when I have found my HG cataloging system!

Tell me in the comments how you keep track of your collection! Thanks for reading!

How To Make Lipstick Out of Crayons

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I was messing around in the kitchen and found a box of crayons. I saw the non toxic, paraben free claims on the box. This made me think, which is never a good sign... Plenty of pigment, no harsh chemicals... It sounded like a lipstick! Keep reading to see how I attempted this!

Begin by collections your materials. You will need coconut oil for the base, olive oil for the shine, and crayons. Also make sure to have a spoon handy.

The first color I wanted to create was a soft coral. To get the perfect combination, I started off with Tickle Me Pink.

The other color that I added in was Burnt Orange. This gave me a mixture of cool and warm tones.

Next, light an old candle. I would recommend using one that you are not particularly fond of; I accidentally spilled a few ingredients here and there... I found this candle for a dollar at Walmart, so it did not hold much sentimental value!

Pour in some olive oil to your tablespoon. The reason I am not enclosing a presice measurement is because you can choose how much you want. The more you add, the shinier your lipstick will be. I am creating more of a buildable color that goes from sheer to opaque, so I started off with more and blotted away the excess with a paper towel.

Unwrap the paper around the crayons. I used about 1/4 of each crayon, so you do not have to unwrap the entire thing.

Cut off the amount that you want to use. Play around with lighter and darker ratios.

Now that the materials are prepared, put it all in your spoon! Instead of holding the spoon the entire time, I turned two coffee cups upside down to create a holder for it. What can I say, my hand got tired after a while!

This is how quickly the crayons melted for me. I used a mini candle, so you can cut the time in half by using a full sized one.

All that is left to do is pour it in a container! I decided to have them in pan form so I could create a palette.

I placed my pan in the refirdgarator for about ten minutes before using it. Placing it on a notecard or any type of paper prevents the product from sticking to the surface.

It is that easy! Here are the colors I have previously created. The new color is not in the palette yet. I should name these! Leave any suggestions in the comments.

At first, this felt like something I would try in my early teenage years. I have to admit, I was suspicious at first. Surprisingly, it does not have any waxy residue or taste to it. I really enjoyed creating them! Tell me in the comments if you will try this, and if so, what colors will you create? Make sure to leave name suggestions in the comments as well! Thanks for reading!

Purple and Pink Pop

Hello Again!

If you saw my latest haul, then you may know I purchased a few things from MAC. I picked up a color that I did not have: Vibrant Grape. This beautiful shade of purple is so much fun to work with. I loved the opaque finish that this product had. Keep reading to see how I created this look!

Start by applying Vibrant Grape to the lid with a flat shader brush. I love how buildable this color is; you can really work it up to the opacity that is needed. Make sure to apply a little bit to the lower lash line as well.

Next, find a bright pink to apply to the crease. I chose Sushi Flower by MAC to go along with the purple.make sure to blend this out very well to smoke it out.

Due to the purple being so bright, I wanted to use a subtle highlight for the inner corner. I decided on Girlie by MAC to softly blend out any harsh edges.

That is it! Apply two coats of mascara and a thin line of black eyeliner and the look is complete. This is so much fun for spring and summer; I can't wait to wear it for a bold pop of color.

Tell me in the comments if you have any requests and make sure to follow! Thanks for reading!

Forever 21 and MAC Haul!

I'm Excited.

Then again, when am I not excited? I am on a super excitement energy high, aka, a shopping high. I haven't purchased any "large" quantity of things at once in a while. I am in love with every single thing that I purchased; keep reading to see what I got!

The first product that I purchased was Vibrant Grape from MAC. I couldn't believe that I didn't have this color already! I love fun colors that can be used as a base for a soft smokey look. This will be so much fun for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.

The next color from MAC is Girlie. I purchased this to wear along with Vibrant Grape as a highlight. I am going to apply this to the inner half of the lid, Vibrant grape on the rest of the lid, and then smoke it out with Sushi Flower. Look for a more detailed post soon!

This is not anything major, but I purchased another Select Coverup. This is my third tube of this product. I transition in between NC and NW depending on where I am applying it. I decided to pick up another NW20 because I wanted something to mix in for my under eye concealer routine. I found the most amazing brush that works so well with this; I have been working on a dry brushing technique.

If you have seen any of my previous posts, you may know that I adore MAC paint pots. I was so excited to see that they came out with a new long wearing collection of paint pots! I decided on a neutral peach with specks of gold glitter in the shade Let Me Pop. This will be so pretty as an overall wash of color on the lid in the summer.

I couldn't leave MAC without purchasing something from the Archie's Girls collection! I did not go to MAC in search of an eyeliner, but I was instantly drawn in to this part of the collection. I have to admit, the packaging had something to do with it... I purchased this mainly because of the packaging, but when I tried it, I was shocked. Wow. This glides on so smoothly! I always strayed away from pencil liners because the tend to tug on my lash line which can lead to pre-mature wrinkles. These eyeliners have changed my mind!

The first item that I got from Forever 21 is one of their nail polishes. I have tried out a few various shades and I love them. For $2.80, how can you go wrong? The shimmer in this color drew me in.

Every single item in that store is strategically placed. I attempted to stay away from the headband section. From the looks of this multi-colored stretch headband, I did not succeed.

I couldn't help it. So. Shiny. I loved the tropical print in this. I have a bad habit of overusing heat on my hair. I have been trying to figure out ways to looks polished and complete without having to curl/straighten it. Hopefully headbands are the answer!

Last headband, I promise! I loved the Greek Goddess feel this had. The thin braided gold intertwined with the cream can put a classical twist on any outfit.

I needed a slim belt to cinch in my oversized tops. I went with a lighter brown instead of black for spring. I loved the triangular detailing along with the gold.

I may have a flower addiction. Every time I go into that store I have to pick up at least one of the pins. I love wearing these with my hair in loose waves along with bangles, beachy and wooden, adorning my wrist. Sounds dreamy, right?

My white capri's have been found! I purchased this adorable top from target a while ago. I was navy with white dots all over it. I have found that it looks too harsh with jeans, so I needed something white. I love the zipper detailing on these; I can't wait to wear them!

I wanted to pick up a pair of dark wash jean shorts. These are just the basic style; I wanted to get them a little small because Forever 21 tends to run smaller on me. These are my spring fitspo; I am determined to get become tones up by summer!

As I stated in the other shorts, I needed new ones. I wanted to purchase something that was in a light wash fabric. I loved the cuffed effect on these; look for new outfit of the day posts!

Like I said before, everything in that store is strategically placed. I was ready to check out and the sale rack was right next to me. Needless to say, I took a few more minutes before I finally wrapped up my purchase! This coral top convinced me to purchase it with its buttons and very agreeable price tag.

The last item that I purchased it this lime spring green top. It is a bit loose intentionally, so I will utilize the belt to cinch it in at the waist.

That is everything that I purchased! Make sure to follow and tell me in the comments what your latest shopping purchases have been. Thank you for reading!
