Nail Necessities

Quick Update: If you have been on the website within the last hour, you may have seen the format. I was testing out a new template, and needless to say, it did not turn out too well! I am quite content with the current one for now. :)

Anyways, I was experimenting with nails. If you have seen some previous posts with my nail polish designs, then you know that I am slightly addicted. The only problem I was running into was the space I had to create my design. My nails do not grow very quickly, but I wanted to test out the look of long nails. I decided to test out fake nails.

I decided on a pair that I knew wouldn't last longer than a week. They were a decent length and not too obnoxious. After gluing them on, I ran into a slight dilemma... I had no idea how to function with them. You basically have to re-learn how to do everyday activities including my nightmare: taking out contacts. I was shocked that after a week later, the nails were still holding strong. I was slightly bored of the design, so I painted over it.

This was the design that I came up with! This was a week later, so you can see that my nails grew out a bit. Overall, I was pretty happy with them. They finally came off about a week later and my nails were not damaged from the glue.

The only activity that took some time for me to do was to get my contacts out. I cannot tell you how many times in those two weeks that I scratched my eyes out. I finally figured out how to slide them and then get them to crinkle up.. It was tough.

I guess if the only downside to the nails was the contact issue, then they went fairly well. I would try them again if I had the chance! Tell me in the comments if you have ever tried fake nails, and if so, how did you like them? Thanks for reading!

Fall Favorites

I am so sorry I have been absent from Forever Fuchsia, but I promise that this week I will try and post every day! So, back to the subject, fall is finally here, and with it my list of fall favorites! So let’s get started!

First off is Mac’s matte blush Melba.  This is my favorite blush for a dance or a night out, and it is versatile. If you apply it with a brush just one layer, it can be sheer and natural, but with many layers it can easily look more pigmented.  This is perfect for a school dance or a night out. Wear a thin layer to add a bit of color to your face. My favorite brush to use to apply this blush is Mac’s 129 brush because it is round, so it is easier to apply blush. I love Mac’s brushes because they are great quality and the bristles are exceptionally soft on your face.

Next is Rusted Rose from Sephora’s line of lip gloss. It is a classy rose color that can be used to add some sparkle to a look.  I love this lip gloss because it can go from daytime to nighttime with a simple swipe of lip gloss. But it does get rather watery which can get a problem if you are trying to put it on thickly, so use a matching lipstick or lip liner under this, and just use Rusted Rose to add sparkle.

Nicole by Opi’s The Next CEO is in my opinion one of the best nail polish colors made by that company.  I consider nails to be an accessory, and this is my favorite way to make nails noticeable, but not gaudy. It looks sparkly in the bottle, but when on the nails it is a light metallic gold. This nail polish rarely chips within two days, with two layers and a good top coat. This is definitely my new go to nail polish!

Favorite Fall Nail Polish's

Fall is about to be here, and with it comes some new nail polish colors! Who doesn't love a deep berry color, or an elegant color that can go with anything? Keep reading to find out more!

First up is Revlon's Cherries In The Snow. This is one of my favorite nail polishes, I actually own two of them. It is perfect because it's not plain red, but it's not a bright neon pink. Cherries in the Snow is a combination of the two, which makes it my go to nail polish.

Next is Sally Hansen's Commander in Chic. Commander in Chic is sheer, so it takes a couple of coat to get the color and thickness that it looks in the bottle. To make it look more young and fun, I like to use a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen to draw designs on it in different colors, if you want a post on different designs and ideas for the nail art pen just leave me a comment below.




Cranberry from Elf is one of my favorite nail polishes. It gives your nails that wow factor that makes people notice them. It's very sparkly and shiny, and it's opaque so it doesn't need more than two layers plus a topcoat. I have had good experiences with Elf nail polishes, they are top quality and don't chip easily.












Sally Hansen's Insta-dri Petal Pusher is a pretty light pastel color. This nail polish is very elegant, and I love to wear it for a formal occasion. This pale color compliments any skin tone nicely, and it dries fast! This nail polish would be cute with a fall dress, or a casual jeans and blouse.















Bachelorette Bash is probably the most common nail polish I wear. I love it! Bachelorette bash is shiny, opaque, and girly. This is a dark fuchsia color, or a deep berry color. Even though it has a small brush, it's easy to put on, and with a base coat, two coats, and a top coat, I guarantee no chipping for the first two days at least!








This sparkly silver topcoat from Forever 21 is sure to make your nails sparkle and shine! It looks great over a berry color, bright blue, and purple! But there are many more options too. The only problem I have ever has is taking it off. It took me half an hour to remove all of my nail polish when I put this on. But, it is defiantly worth it! My Favorite Nail Polish and Companies

Today I'm going to tell you all of my favorite companies/ nail polish accesories.So as a gift my mom got me Sally Hanson Salon Effects. So the reason they sre real fake nail polish is because it is strips that you put over your nails, BUT the are made of real nail polish! I can tell because it says that on the box and it certainly smells like nail polish. I got the pink polka dot print. They are supposed to look real becsuse after you put the strips on you have to shape it to your nail with a small nail file that comes in the package.

So, The next one is the Sally Hanson nail art pen (she makes great nail stuff). I own (and so does Perfectly Pink) it in pale pink. These work great, too, and they looks so cool on your nails. But there are a couple of issues. Sometimes it's really hard to get the paint to start coming out, and sometimes it comes out too much so you have giant blobs. But once you get the hang of it that doesn't happen. Also, after you apply it, let it dry and then put a clear coat over it. If you do not do this is rubs off VERY quickly.

OPI is my all time favorite nail polish company. They come up with the coolest collections and their nail polish is absolutely the best possible quality. This is just a great company and I highly suggest it.

Ok, so I do like Essie. It has some really cool colors. The only probl I have with them is that there colors are so sheer! Expecially the light pink ones(Which are gorgeus by the way)even after multiple coats you still get nail lines!! But they do have some vey pretty colors so I do get some of there things. I just do many layers.

Crackle/Shatter

     Today I am going to talk about one of my favorite things to do with my nails. I call it crackle, but the OPI website calls it shatter, so I guess you can call it whatever you want. Crackle/ Shatter looks like this.

When I first saw this, I thought it had to be done by hand and I was like, wow, that must take alot of time. But really it's quite easy.

1. First you apply a base coat of normal nail polish. It can be any color you like.

2. Wait for it to dry, then apply it again.

3. Then take some crackle nail polish.


You buy this at most stores that sell nail polish. Apply it onto your nail just like it was another layer of you base coat.

********You want to make sure that your base coat and your crackle colors go well together. You also want to be sure that the two colors are very different, because if they are too alike you won't be able to see the crackle as well.

4. Wait for it to dry, and the VOILA!!!

A Cool Nail Design

Hello Readers!
On the Nicole OPI website, it shows a cool design you can easily do on you nails! What do first, you paint your nails a basic color, and wait for it to dry. Then you take two pieces of tape, and put them paralel on you fingers so there is a straight line that is not covered by the tape. After that, paint your nails again, but a different color. Finally, peel off the tape, and you will have a lovely design on your finger nails! Below is a picture of how to do it.

If you want, you can put the tape in different places, so the line is different on each finger nail.
