Bright Eyes For Spring + Marilyn Monroe Trick

Happy Spring!

Spring is the perfect time to start bringing out the brighter colors. I wore this look on a shopping trip with some friends and received a ton of good feedback on it! I feel like if I put more time into eyeshadow with colors, people tend to recognize it more than time spent on neutrals. Seriously, the professional at Sephora was going nuts over this.. Keep reading to see how I achieved it!

Is it just me, or is this a pop of color? I feel like it is the perfect way to branch out into brights.

 

Yes, I went back into the Marilyn Monroe makeup basics. Her classical look an be adapted into just about anything!

We know what she is thinking there.. Might as well add a speech bubble. I went a little bit overboard on the graphics here; I was having too much fun!

Winged Eyes and Orange Eyebrows... Wait, what?!?

Yes, I did a double take of the title was well. Disclaimer: this look was not worn in public. Do not try this at home.

Why did I try this? Great question. The Forever Fuchsia team was working on some new looks for posts and we came up with a challenge. Our logo designer picked out a certain number of products for each of us to try and we had to create a look with it. After looking at my kit, I knew there was no hope for the natural look. The madness is explained.

 

Fabulous, right? This actually was not that difficult to do; the products blended well. The eyebrows are actually the NYX lip pencil in Pumpkin, and the eyes came from a combination of MAC's Hi-def Cyan and NYX Jumbo shadow pencils.

Neutral With A Twist

Hello again!

I am so happy I finally have a routine put together for posts; do you like the tutorial/review plan? I have been recording my eye makeup every day since Christmas, so I have plenty of tutorials to do! Anyways, I was working with some new products and I wanted to create a fun version of a neutral eye. Keep reading to see the simple steps to achieve this look!




Start by priming the eyes with a neutral base.



Apply a creamy white highlighter to the brow bone and center of the lid.




Line the eyes with a shimmery gold eyeliner. I used Urban Decay's Eldorado.






I applied Club to my crease with a fluffy brush. I also used a card when blending to create a sharp angle.





The gold eyeliner is a statement product, but it can look over the top. I blended out the gold with Samoa Silk.

I wanted to bring out the golden shimmer in the liner, so I applied Trax with a fluffy dome brush to blend out the crease.





I applied Shroom to the brow bone to lighten up the look.



This is the finished eye! I love this unique twist on the typical neutral eye; it is so much fun.

Winter Necessities

Hey Everyone!

      I am in the Christmas spirit. Yes, I know, Thanksgiving just ended, but I am a total Christmas addict! I love seeing the first snowfall, decorating the tree, and editing my beauty routine. Instead of going toward the cooler color palette, I decided to incorporate some warmer tones. Keep reading to see my favorites!

I love Rubenesque because it works for a base or by itself. This is also picture friendly; it makes your eyes stand out without it looking like there is a disco ball on your eyelids. The reason Paint Pots are so popular from MAC is mainly because they are technically a cream to powder product; they apply as a base for the shadows and then dry down to a powder to lock in the colors.

The best way to look wide awake is to line your upper lash line. By winging this product out, it makes your eyes look much bigger, making you look well rested. I am switching from black liner to brown for a change; it doesn't appear as harsh but it still defines the eyes. Another way to play with blacks and browns is to use black on the upper lash line and brown on the lower. I would not pair black and brown together, but for eyeliner, it works.

I love a classical red lip. It adds the glamorous factor to any outfit, but it can be tricky to pull off. By applying a neutral coral to the center, you are toning down the cool tones in the red, making it more wearable.

Glowing Golden Eyes

                                                        Hello Readers!
Today I am going to show you a fun, easy look to pull together. This is one of my favorite looks to do, because it can easily be toned down, by using a smaller amount of eyeliner, or none at all. I know its almost fall, but we haven't lost all of our summer tans yet, which is great because this look looks super chic with a tan. So let's get started!

First I took Nylon from Mac Cosmetics and applied it all over my eye lid. Nylon is one of Mac's best sellers, because it gives you the white effect, but it had a touch of gold in it. I used this color because it will be easier to blend with All That Glitters instead of Crystal Avalanche, because Nylon is closer to All That Glitters. Nylon is a frost finish.



For the main part of the look that gives it the glowing golden effect, I put All That Glitters very thickly in the outer corner and the crease. All That Glitters is also one of Mac's best sellers because it is blend-able, and versatile. It can be used in so many different looks from a summer smokey eye to a work/school look.

The eye shadow part is pretty simple, but I wanted to do something with eyeliner to give it that big wow factor. I thought of using a golden eyeliner, but that would blend in too much with All That Glitter's. So I used  Maybelline's Ultra Liner, to make a small cat eye. This liquid liner is great because it dries fast and it comes off easily with a bit of soap, but if you have sensitive skin don't use this because it can give you a rash. I made a small cat eye on the top, and then put some on the outer part of the lower lash line.

The eyeliner is very dark black, so I needed a mascara that's the same black and the eyeliner. To do this, I usually use Mac's False Lashes Masscara, but I wanted to try something new, so I used Clinique's Lash Doubling Mascara in black. It makes your lashes look much longer, and thicker.
