MAC Haul!

It is finally here!

I have a mini Mac haul of some products that I recently purchased. Keep reading to see what I got!

I first got the MAC pro palette insert for 15 shadows. I always told myself that buying the shadows in pot form would help me use them more, but I am using my palette all of the time!

I also purchased the large single palette with the clear lids. I posted about this a few days ago; expect a more detailed review soon!

Okay, I know this is a strange color... I am going to figure out how to make it wearable! This is Sour Lemon from the pro line.

I had to purchase Vellum because of the sheen. This looks like a very basic white, but when it is applied, it has the prettiest violet shimmer to it. If you would combine the duo chrome in Stars and Rockets with Gesso, this would be it.

Naval is another color from the Pro line. I used this in my false lash proof post and it makes a beautiful eyeliner/smoked out look.

My two other highlight staples are Blanc Type and Orb. I have hit pan on both of them, so I decided to try something a little different. I went with Vanilla, which reads more matte on me.

Last but not least, I purchased Sumptuous Olive. I cannot believe I haven't tried this before! It is my go to crease color and it works with just about anything.

That is my haul! Tell me in the comments if you have picked anything up recently. Thanks for reading!

How I Keep My Hair Frizz Free!

Have you ever wondered why your hair is super silky after you get the ends trimmed? Getting all of the split ends off helps a lot, but there is one key product that hairdressers use to make the client's hair smoother. Let me introduce you to Moroccan Oil.

First of all, the packaging is the prettiest Tiffany box blue! How lovely. Moroccan oil is a combination of split end sealing oils. They tame any frizz without making hair seem oily.

This product is sold online and at select salons.

I believe that this magic potion works best on damp hair. I like to let my hair air dry about 50% before I apply this. I would recommend starting on the ends. Most people start at the roots of the hair which can make it appear oily. I prefer to start on the ends of my hair and work my way up.

That is my go-to product! Tell me in the comments if you have ever heard of Moroccan oil, and if so, have you tried it? I will have the MAC haul up tomorrow or saturday, I can't wait! Thank you for reading!

Latest looks: Winter 2013

How often do you change up your makeup routine? As a self proclaimed beauty blogger, I consider it necessary to keep switching things up. These have been my favorite looks that I have considered blog worthy!

Blue and Purple Ice Eyes
This was a fun winter wonderland look with a hint of purple.

Pop of Emerald
I was in the mood to create a neutral eye with a pop of color, so I used a new ELF palette for a fun everyday look.

Honey and Bronze Eyes.
This was a new twist on the typical bronzy look. I worked with both shimmery and matte textures to add that right amount of dimension to the eye.

Neutral With A Twist
I was so happy to incorporate Samoa Silk and a gold eyeliner into a natural look. This sculpts the eye and will complement any lip/cheek combination.

Spring's New "It" Color
Spring may not be here yet, but it is coming up soon. Catch up on the latest must have color in this post!

My Fake Lash Proof
I have been writing about my latest obsession with fake lashes. This is my proof of the difference it makes!

Those have been my top 6 eye looks! I wanted to add in my mint chocolate chip eyes but the pictures are in a new format. Tell me in the comments how often you change up your look. Thanks for reading!

My Fake Lash Proof: Part 2

Voila! Are these lashes amazing or what? If you saw my last post, you know that I am in love with false lashes. This addiction has recently blossomed; I never have reached for them in my collection before. I am thinking of placing an order and getting some in bulk soon. I wanted to share a picture of a navy smokey eye that I tried out. Before I found out the mascara secret, my smokey eyes looked like black eyes. You know, the "accidentally ran into _________" look? Oh, feel free to fill in the blank. Lashes provide an anchor for the shadow; it pulls everything together.

I used my Ardell lashes in 53 black for this look. They provide a ton of length and plenty of fullness without being too much of a drag queen look. Yes, even I have limits on my lashes. ;)

Anyways, tell me in the comments if you like the latest picture style! I have been messing around with different formatting and styles. When I only have a few pictures, I really enjoy making them a nit larger. You can see the product/look in detail which can be more helpful. Keep an eye out for a MAC haul, I got my products today! I didn't open them until I took pictures, so it is kind of an unboxing haul... Kind of. I can't wait for it!

My Latest Makeup Addiction: Fake Lashes

I remember looking at fake lashes when I was younger and thinking, "Ew. Who would even think about wearing those?" The fluffy little creatures frightened me from a young age. Why do I like them now? I wish I knew the answer.

I was trying to attempt to re-organize my collection (post coming soon!) when I found a pair of lashes. I tried them on just for fun. I was shocked at the difference that it made! My eyes looked so much bigger, and it brightened my face. Not all lashes look fake; I have been testing some very natural types as well. Overall, I am pretty impressed with these, I will use them in more future looks! Tell me in the comments if you use fake lashes, and if so, what is your favorite pair? Thanks for reading!

Spring's New "It" Color

Yes, it is blue. Do not run screaming out the door, I can explain. When I thought of blue eyeshadow, I used to imagine a really bad 80's music video. Trust me, I thought it was pretty crazy too. This is coming from the person that does crazy looks everyday, but I mean, come on, blue? After testing out just about every color imaginable, I knew that there had to be a way to make this work.
I was looking at the Spring/Summer 2013 makeup looks from Fashion Week. Here is my rundown on my favorite looks:
Anna Sui: The face was left very simple. A wash of pool blue shadow was applied to the lid.
Fendi: This one is pretty interesting; a bathing suit was cut up into small strips and used on the lower lash line. Wow.
Clements Riberio: A nautical blue was applied to the upper lash line in a cat eye with a dot on the lower lash line in the middle.
Altuzarra: A deep navy was used for lining the upper lash line and ended in a slight wing.

My S/S 2013 inspired look started with MAC's eyeliner in So There Jade. I applied this to my lid and lower lash line. After stopping the color just before the crease, I blended it out with a small smudge brush like the 214.
The key to getting an interesting mix of textures is to use both creams and powders. I am going to set the creamy eyeliner with MAC's Tilt Eyeshadow. This was applied with a 213 brush to my outer corner and crease.

I am going in with a multi-purpose chromagraphic pencil in Hi-Def Cyan and using it to cut the crease. I actually extended the crease a bit; this is such a beautiful color! After applying the pencil, I buffed it out for a soft edge using a 217.
I love the look of the shadows fading into the skin, so I made sure this transition was seamless.

I wanted to slightly highlight the inner corner for a pop of aqua. This is actually softer than the other colors; it blends into the look very well. I applied this on a very small pencil brush to my inner corner.

Most of the model's wearing blue on the eyes sported a soft lip. They either had a light layer of concealer or nothing at all. I wanted a really soft lip with a hint of color, so I used the BH Cosmetics lip liner in earth.

This kind of resembles the makeup at the Monique Lhuillier show without the gold in the inner corner. I love that blue is finally coming back with a twist.
I also have some good news to share! I finally figured out how to use my new camera! (claps and cheers from the crowd) Let me know in the comments if you can see a difference in quality; I think it looks so much better! Also leave me a note and tell me if you are going to try the blue trend this spring. Feel free to request a post, and make sure to follow us on twitter! Thanks for reading!

My Makeup Story TAG

I am really excited to finally do my first TAG post! I found the "My Makeup Story" tag in a couple of blogs and decided to try it out! I know that this is an older tag, but it seemed like a good one to start with. Keep reading to see my responses!

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

I would wear it for very special events when I was younger, but every little girl usually gets the occasional use of gloss. I started consistently wearing it when I was about 12 because I found it so interesting!

2. How did you get into makeup?

Probably by the online beauty community! I remember looking up "Mac" and intended to search for a MacBook when I saw posts and videos on MAC Cosmetics.

3. What are some of your favorite brands?

You can probably guess that my all time favorite is MAC. I also enjoy other brands like NYX, Urban Decay, and E.L.F.

4. What does makeup mean to you?

I feel like it is a form of self expression. Makeup is not always used to cover up flaws, it is used to bring out your best features. So many people think that it is just part of an everyday routine to look presentable, but I believe that it can make someone feel more confident, complete, and most of all, beautiful.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?

This is a tough question! Probably a tinted moisturizer, mascara, eyeliner, and a really pigmented red gloss. You can easily get an old Hollywood inspired look by using these four products.

6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?

I feel like it is such a confidence booster! When I freelance, my favorite part is seeing the client's reaction. I love seeing how the right shade of lipstick can brighten up the entire face, or how a highlight brings the entire eye look together.

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?

I believe that all brands have a great range of products. It really depends on what aspect you are looking for; a lot of drugstore brands offer a lot of great products for lower prices. The reason I typically go for higher end products such as MAC is because it was the first brand I tried. I have been hooked ever since!

8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?

Practice makes perfect! Every chance you get, try out different combinations. Keep working with different textures, finishes, and colors. The best part? If you don't like it, you can always wash it off.

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?

I don't know if this is even considered a trend, but I hate the fake orange tan look. I love the look of a healthy, tanned glow, but really? Why orange?

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube?

I think that it is amazing! I am saying this not only to you tubers, but to bloggers as well. I never knew how much hard work and dedication it took until I started blogging on here. Every single minute pays off, it is so much fun!

That concludes the "my makeup story" tag! I know this is a really old tag, but it seemed like so much fun! I tag all of you to try this if you haven't posted already. Tell me in the comments what tags I should check out, and make sure to follow! Thank you for reading!

Mint Chocolate Chip Eyes

Hey Everyone!

I have a really simple tutorial that takes about five minutes to complete. I know it can be difficult to pull off brings colors in the winter, so I decided to use a more subtle green and a wing to make it a fun and (kind of) practical look! Keep reading to see how I completed it.

Easy, right? Feel free to add more contours/ highlights; I just loved the simplicity of it. Tell me in the comments how you incorporate bring colors into your beauty routine, and follow us on twitter under the username @foreverfuchsia. Feel free to request a post and thank you for reading!

Palettes vs Pots

Welcome Back to Forever Fuchsia!
I have a quick question for you all. If you saw my last tutorial post, then you know that I am going to place an order with MAC soon. I was admiring the latest PRO products (see my favorite products here!) and I saw the new palettes. I love the quads, but they only save around four dollars than getting them in pot form. The 15 color palettes seemed great, but the opaque lid made me continue to purchase the pots. Now, MAC has brought out a palette with a clear lid! You can even purchase different inserts depending on what you want to use it for.

Okay; how much more of a shiny object can you find? These look so sleek. MAC usually raises the prices every year and the pan shadows are much less expensive.
Overall, I really like the look of these new palettes. Tell me in the comments if you prefer palettes over pots and feel free to request a post. Make sure to follow us on twitter under the username @foreverfuchsia. Thank you for reading!

Honey and Bronze Eyes

Hey everyone!

I was working on another simple neutral look and I came up with this! Keep reading to see the simple steps to achieve this.

I started by applying a creamy yellow base all over my lid. This is Treasure Hunt paint pot by MAC.

I applied MAC's Tweet Me eyeshadow to the outer half of my lid with a 239 brush to make my eyes appear larger.

Next, I applied the Cream Color Base in Bronze for a bit of a glow. I used a BH Cosmetics Concealer brush to smudge this on the outer corner.

To finish the look, apply a hunter green eyeliner to my upper lash line. I also applied fascinating eyeliner to my waterline.
That is it! I have a mint chocolate chip tutorial coming up, so keep an eye out for that! Tell me in the comments what posts you would like to see; I feel like I am getting into a tutorial rut. I am really excited about an upcoming event; I am finally going to indulge in a MAC haul! I have picked up random products over the past year, but I have not purchased a major "haul worthy" amount. I am loving the latest palette update... More shadows are ahead. Anyways, thank you for reading!

MAC Color Correctors?

Hey everyone!

I wanted to put up a quick post talking about MAC's line of color correcting concealers. I have heard of the costal scents camo quads, but I am really curious about the MAC ones! I am contemplating the issue of ordering Pure Orange. The warm tones counteract any blue/purple tones such as dark undereye circles. Tell me in the comments if you use color correcting concealers and make sure to follow! Oh, and Happy New Year! Thank you for reading!
